Angelina Beautiful/Clean (AB/C) and the Texas Forest Service will be giving away tree seedlings at the Lufkin Mall parking lot near the loop on Friday February 8th beginning at 9:00 a.m. The seedling varieties for the 2008 give-a-way are: Black Walnut, Cherrybark Oak, Cinquapin Oak, Nuttall Oak, Pecan, Sawtooth Oak, Southern Red Oak, and White Oak. These seedlings are available to everybody on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
According to Tony Moline, AB/C Executive Director, “This is a wonderful way to celebrate Arbor Day. The Texas Forest Service provides us with these beautiful tree seedlings. To give the seedlings a better chance, the Forest Service will sprinkle root treatment on them, and all you have to do is plant the seedling properly.”
Angelina Beautiful/Clean and the Texas Forest Service have partnered for the past several years to provide this fun and free event to the public. “This helps create a pleasant landscape at no cost to our citizens.”
